Serves as the principal Information Management/ Information Technology (IT) advisor, provides policy, planning, and technical advice for managing and securing the garrison mission IT systems.
Analyze Information Technology (IT) plans in order to determine the impact and applicability to the mission.
Perform Information Technology (IT) studies in order to provide input on the development of information systems.
Utilize technical expertise of installation's existing information architecture to determine various aspects for emerging technology (such as compatibility, integration and requirements).
Utilize specialized communications methods/techniques in order to make recommendations and or resolve Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Management (C4IM) baseline service delivery and support.
Determine requirements to procure, configure, install, activate, and maintain security postures for all telecommunications devices.
Coordinates and monitors all C4IM above-baseline service delivery, support, and funding.
Ensure integration of C4IM systems components are installed and working properly (i.e., office phones, automation systems, network copiers, audio-visual equipment, and telecommunication devices).
Manages Information Assurance awareness, mission system accreditation, and compliance reporting to meet Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirements.
Maintain system configuration, IT equipment/software interfaces and interoperability problems enhancing reliability of systems.
Prepare study summaries for comparison of alternatives pertinent to the economic justification of costs, time and equipment usage for the command.
Develop recommendations concerning major project ramifications and to offset adverse impact on the command.
Develop technical plans/proposals to determine the impact and applicability to mission requirements.
Create work plans, program logic, special instructions, and detailed flow charts covering processes and network services needed.
Prepare certification documents for any application/systems required by the organization.
Brief senior leadership on any changes affecting C4IM above-baseline service delivery, support, and funding.
Provide recommendations to management on the appropriate hardware/software required to ensure that the mission can be satisfied with the optimum quality.
Negotiate C4IM above-baseline and mission-specific service delivery and support requirements with the Network Enterprise Center (NEC), including usage sensitive services.
