Job Description:


GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager/Manager, Medical Information is to manage the product specific activities and functional capabilities for providing Medical Information services.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIRED SKILLS
This position will coordinate the development of Medical Information standard responses to unsolicited queries from consumers and healthcare professional for one of the Vertex products. In addition, this position will collaborate with internal businesses on corporate initiatives throughout the lifecycle of Vertex products.
This position will also collaborate and communicate with Medical Affairs staff, participate in cross-functional meetings, and contribute to group discussions. The Senior Manager/Manager will report into the Associate Director of Global Medical Information.

Scientific Content/Brand Support
  • Providing strategic scientific consults on product global strategy
  • Develop timely, accurate, and scientifically balanced responses to unsolicited medical information inquiries
  • Reviewing medical materials for content and accuracy
  • Participate in key product launch planning activities
  • Coordinate development, review and approval of clinical Data on File Packets
  • Incorporate customer insight to identify, update, and develop GMI materials
  • Coordinate with Medical Affairs colleagues, vendor and outsource provider to develop content
  • Develop the content for product training in conjunction for internal and cross-functional teams where applicable
  • Provide guidance and direction on handling inquiries received by the Medical Information Call Center (MIC)
  • Conduct quality review of cases logged by the MIC
  • Ensure compliance with Vertex policies and procedures.
  • Provide support for the Global Medical Information booth at Vertex exhibits during medical/scientific congresses.
  • Work cross-functionally with other Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Quality and Pharmacovigilance to ensure alignment of medical information materials.
Customer Engagement
  • Respond to Medical Inquiries and engage in appropriate scientific information exchanges with Health Care Providers and patients via multiple channels (i.e. verbal, written).
  • Utilize multiple approved technologies to engage customers in appropriate scientific exchange
  • Identify, analyze and/or report trends in medical and scientific insight (including Medical Inquiries) to cross-functional brand teams
Desirable Requirements
  • 2-4 years experience in pharmaceutical industry in drug information, preferably in Medical Affairs
  • Clinical Pharmacy experience with patient care exposure
  • Drug Information Residency or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with Commercial or Brand Teams
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Medical information call center experience
  • Experience leading projects and teams
  • Managed Markets or HEOR experience
  • Pharmacy Licensure preferred

  • Experience in launch planning and execution of launch related Medical information Tactics

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Advanced degree, doctorate level (PharmD, or Ph.D.) preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in medical information or medical affairs
